Hallmark Property have recently lodged plans with Toowoomba Regional Council to build a new Childcare Centre adjacent to the Wirraglen Estate.
The proposed development would provide a brand new, superbly designed 1200sqm facility for up to 140 children aged from newborns to five year olds, with more than 40 parking spaces.
Contemporary, yet environmentally sympathetic designs created by VHD Studio, accompany the lodgement and the developer is very excited about the future project. Wirraglen Project Director, Mr Tim Colthup said “A facility that sits adjacent to such a large residential estate means that the drop off is the first stop on the day’s journey and the last as they return home, making it easier for both the parent and the child.”
The 4070 sqm site will need to be cleared to make way for the construction and the facility’s design had to be creatively managed to address the unusual shape of the land parcel. “We recognised early on that the primary focus for the design had to be functionality for the operator and the children who attend the centre”, said Hallmark Property CEO, Mr Ian Knox. “The plans incorporate areas designed specifically for each age group along with areas for reception, staff offices and amenities.” he said. “The planning for the centre has also carefully considered the surrounding residential communities and we hope that the facility will be well received by all residents in the area, not just those that reside at Wirraglen”, said Mr Knox.
The application, including traffic, stormwater, and environmental noise impact reports, now sits with Toowoomba Regional Council to work through the assessment process.
